Current Sketches
After a couple weeks of being out of school, my muse has finally hit me and I feel like I am ready to get going with my work! I intend to continue with the fossil theme (see my Fossil Series). I am going to attempt to make the new pieces more practical for actual wear, rather than simply artistic, as well.
First is another Trilobite necklace. I need to explain that ever since my Intro to Metals course in college I have been in love with chain making. ESPECIALLY byzantine chains. Tiny byzantine chains. So I am going to try to merge this with my pieces that I make. All three of these sketches say “silver byz. chain”, pointing to a vague sketch of what looks more like a neckwire. This is just so I don’t have to kill myself with trying to draw the chain

Next is another, MUCH simpler, Blastoid necklace and earring set. I have also fallen in love with the technique called “Marriage of Metals” - where you cut out sections in different types of metals and solder them all together, sort of like a jigsaw puzzle. I am incorporating that into this piece.

And lastly, a Blastoid necklace. I will be using a lot of chain for this piece, doing a sort of layered-chain look.

So there is a taste of what I will soon be working on in the studio!! Be sure to come back and see the in-progress progression!!

Hi,
Your designs are impressive. Where are you from? Did you already started selling using e-commerce? I am from California and run a fashion company.
